ABOUT HOMIN

HOMIN is a professional musical ensemble created to promote choral art and represent the best achievements of Ukrainian music culture. The choir works with a wide range of repertoire, bringing choral music to broader audiences and inspiring listeners through the beauty of live vocal performance.

Founded in 1988 in Lviv at the regional branch of the Music Society of Ukraine, HOMIN has performed successfully in Ukraine and abroad for more than 30 years, including tours in the USA, France, Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Great Britain, Serbia, Spain, and Sweden.

Together with the Culture Department of the Lviv City Council, the choir has also organized cultural and educational projects abroad, as well as festivals in Lviv, including the Lviv Meetings International Choral Music Festival and the regional festival Praise the Lord from Heaven.

REPERTOIRE

The ensemble’s repertoire includes works by Ukrainian composers, folk and insurgent songs, European and American choral pieces, and contemporary music programs. HOMIN is especially known for Christmas concerts with Ukrainian and international carols, spiritual music projects, patriotic programs, and modern choral productions. For audiences planning musical trips across Germany, you can also explore concerts in Berlin on our website.

HOMIN AND THE LVIV ORGAN HALL

In 2023, HOMIN joined the Lviv Organ Hall to combine the expertise and artistic practices of both institutions. In August 2023, Vadym Yatsenko became the choir’s chief conductor and artistic director. Under his leadership, the renewed HOMIN represented Ukraine at the International Choir Festival in Lund, Sweden.

At the Lviv Organ Hall, HOMIN regularly presents new programs and takes part in collaborative projects with soloists, guest conductors, and the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Luhansk Regional Philharmonic. The choir’s performances are also featured on the Ukrainian Live Classic YouTube channel.

HOMIN was recognized as the best choir of 2024 in Ukraine according to Ukrinform’s national Infobum-Classical Music 2024 rating.

In 2025, HOMIN Choir performed 200 shows in Ukraine and Europe. In 2026, the ensemble plans more than 250 performances across Ukraine, Europe, the UK, the USA, and Canada.
