Serhiy Zhadan to hold charity readings in Europe
Poet, writer, musician, public figure and military officer of the 2nd corps of the Charter National University Serhiy Zhadan will embark on a charity tour of European cities “Country. Charter. Poems”. 100% of the profits from the tour will go to charity.
The special new program “Country. Charter. Poems” will include conversations about life, Kharkiv, the army and, of course, poetry readings by the author — in particular, from the new collection of poems, prose and graphics “Hymns of the Baroque Warrior”, which the author will present at the events.
“We want to tell you about the experience and philosophy of the Charter, people who make history, build a new country,” explains Serhiy Zhadan. “We will not give lectures or engage in agitation — it is important and valuable for us to talk about what we live by, what keeps us going, about a sense of strength and confidence. At these meetings we want to see “our own” people — people who share our values and principles, who do not give up on the main thing, are not afraid of the future and have not lost the ability to believe and love.”
A charity auction will be held as part of the performances, during which unique lots will be raffled off, including graphics by Serhiy Zhadan. A bookstore of the Meridian Czernowitz publishing house will also be open.
