“Caligula” in Stuttgart!
On November 8, 2026, the FILharmonie Filderstadt in Stuttgart will host a performance of “Caligula” by the Ivan Franko National Academic Drama Theater. This outstanding play by French writer and Nobel laureate Albert Camus, directed by Ivan Uryvskyi, will reveal to the audience the darkest corners of human nature.
“Caligula” is the story of a cruel Roman emperor, a tale that encompasses much more than just a thirst for power. What can the sudden loss of a loved one and the resulting grief lead to? What despicable acts is a person capable of when they fear for their own life? What turns a person into a slave, a being who loses their dignity and honor? And what actually gives rise to tyranny and causes the decline of an entire civilization? This is a drama that poses countless pressing questions, the answers to which each member of the audience must find for themselves.
